The Hickory-Fountain Green Recreation Council represents the leisure needs and interests of its members and the general community it serves. The Officers and Directors of HFG Rec work in close association with the Harford County Department of Parks & Recreation to implement programs to assure that the expressed needs of the public are adequately addressed.
HFG Rec is committed to enhancing the lives of all our citizens through the provision of a diversified menu of leisure opportunities; the acquisition and protection of open space; the development, operation and management of adequate public recreation facilities; and the adherence to a strong environmental ethic.

Programs
Baseball
Recreation baseball is offered from T-ball (ages 4-5) through 16-20 age groups. HFG Baseball is proud to support our Hickory Hornets travel baseball teams, playing in local and regional travel baseball leagues, while competing in highly competitive tournaments across Maryland and in surrounding states. Every year, we are proud to support the 12U Hickory Hornets trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park!
Girl’s Lacrosse
HFG Lacrosse participates in the Harford County Girls League and the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association. We offer 6 programs for girls ages 5-14. First time players are encouraged to sign up. The program serves the Hickory, Fountain Green and Forest Hill areas.
Indoor Soccer
Indoor soccer is offered at the Forest Hill-Hickory Activities Center. We offer multiple sessions each winter for age groups ranging from kindergarten/1st Grade through High School.
Outdoor Soccer
Recreation soccer offered from U5 (Ages 3 & 4) through U16 (ages 14 and 15). Players aged U10 and up will play against both HFG-affiliated teams, as well as teams from neighboring rec councils. We are excited to offer travel soccer through our Hickory Soccer Club!
Softball
Recreation softball is offered for players aged 7-8 through 11-13. (Girls aged 6 and under are encouraged to register with our clinic baseball program). HFG is also proud to support our very own Hickory Lady Hornets travel softball teams as they play in local leagues, as well as tournaments across Maryland and surrounding states.
Wrestling
The HFG Colts wrestling program is an instructional program for new and advanced wrestlers ages 5-14. Practices and home team events are held at the Forest Hill/Hickory Activities Cetner.
